
Ayurvedic Indian Head Massage
The Indian Head Massage (IHM) or shirobhyanga, is a healing modality that has its roots in the science of Ayurveda. This massage technique, practiced with the client seated, has a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating effect through work on the “marma” or pressure points and various massage techniques on the head and face.
The massage takes from 1 to 2 hour, and includes the upper back, arms, neck, and shoulders, scalp, face and focuses on releasing tension in the body, as well as mental stress.
Indian Head Massage is beneficial in relieving headaches and migraines, stress, insomnia, it clears sinuses and helps in draining lymphatic system, relaxing the “computer shoulders” and healing depression and anxiety.
